10-Methacryloyloxydecyldihydrogenphosphate
From WikiDent
10-Methacryloyloxydecyldihydrogenphosphate (10-MDP), developed in 1981, is the active polymer in Panavia F (Kuraray Dental). The benefits of this polymer are provided by Kuraray on their product handout:
- a hydrophilic phosphate group to perform acidic decalcification and bind to calcium ions or amino groups of tooth structure,
- a hydrophobic alkyl group to maintain a balance between hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity, and,
- a double-bond ending for effective polymerization

Mechanism of Action
10-MDP chemically bonds to base metals, but not noble metals.
