The Noble Metals are as follows:

  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Palladium
  • Rhodium
  • Ruthenium
  • Iridium
  • Osmium
  • Silver (not considered noble for dental use due to high corrosion)

ADA Classification

  • HN - High Noble
    • Contains ≥40 wt% Au and ≥60 wt% of noble metal
  • N - Noble
    • Contains ≥25 wt% of the noble metals
  • PB - Predominantly Base Metal
    • Contains <25 wt% of the noble metals
  • Ti - Titanium and Titanium Alloys
    • Contains ≥85% Titanium
