Silane

Organofunctional silanes, such as y-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane, promote adhesion between organic polymers and inorganic materials. They are frequently used to create a chemical bond between resin cement and ceramics.

Silanes are not useful for creating a chemical bond to highly crystalline ceramics with reduced glass content such as Alumina or Zirconia Ceramics.
